We did it! Read all about my epic journey HERE!!
Day 12, Lands End at last! 993 miles in total. Really tough today with hill after hill with no rests as you still had to peddle downhill because of a strong headwind. Minor celeb status at the end with tons of photos, then a pint, mixed grill and a chill!
Day 10, 77 miles, 819 miles total. Very sunny morning riding into Chepstow with Mark and Dino, thanks guys. Great going over the Old Severn Bridge. Down side was Ed got hit by a car later and our support vehicle was clamped! Good ole Weston-Super-Mud! Both are fine now I have to say! I'm in Burnham now with the outlaws.
Day 9, 102 miles, 750 miles total. Fab weather. Dropped in to work to say hello. Good to be heading home even if it is only for one night! Three days left, legs going well. Down to the inlaws tomorrow in Somerset
Day 8, 62 miles, 640 miles total. Saw jodrel bank dish then visited my old work colleagues in Leek. Two of the guys joined us for 30 miles. Had some sun and dodged the rain all day apart from the last 20 minutes!
Day 6, 66 miles, 493 miles total. pleasant dry start, traveled through Penrith. Fab views over the M6 followed by a monster climb and hail - weird!! Met more nutters carrying all their gear on bikes, so heavy you couldn't lift them!
Day 5, 88 miles, 426 miles so far. Tough day with early rain, then drizzle and very little sun. A bit bland now we haven`t got the mountains or lochs to look at. It was a nice feeling coming into Carlisle and England!
Day 4, only 65 miles today.Over to the Isle of Arran and back to Ayr. Blue sky all the way and stunning mountains. Buttox are much better but now I have an ankle twinge! Poor old body!
Day 3, 86 miles today, 273 miles in total. More fab lochs and stunning views. Legs still OK but sore arse is the new concern! I`d better keep quiet or people will talk!
Day 2, 100 miles today, 186 miles in total. Really tough in the early rain and playing chicken with the nutter lorry drivers! Sun later by the lochs (no Nessy!). Found our first burger van!
Day 1, 86.5 miles. Very sunny, great scenery, not too many hills! Feeling strong, Loch Ness tomorrow!
The epic journey begins from John O`Groats on August the 14th!
